Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan "Ig" Stapleton, loving husband of Marie and devoted father of Jeffrey (Natalie). Allan is survived by his brothers John (Mary), Harold (Gerri), Neal (Molly), and Bill (Theresa), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Allan and his wife Marie met in 1966 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland and married in London, Ontario in 1972. They settled in Guelph where Allan enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career as an engineer in the packaging industry. When not at work, Allan loved spending time with family and friends near the water, cheering on his beloved Blue Jays and, more recently, spending winters in Florida with Marie. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, patience, and blunt honesty.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to a charity of ones choice in Allan's name would be appreciated by the family.

Very sorry to learn today of Allan's passing. Sympathies to his family.
Allan was a great guy and very fair and honest and called it liked it saw it.
He always encouraged me to take risks and push the envelope forward and to never look back.
I always had his support behind me and I owe him a lot for advancing my career.
It was always great to come to the Guelph office and to share and swap stories with Allan in the corner office.
He will be missed by many and individual not easy to replace. One of a kind. |

| Condolences to Marie, Jeff, and the rest of Allan's family. I only met Allan a few times: The day he dropped Jeff off at university, and the day Jeff married Natalie stand out in my mind; likely two of his happiest moments. While Allan's passing is tragic, some solace can be taken in the fact that he leaves behind a family that anyone would be proud of. He will be missed. |
