It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father and nonno, Antonio, on March 4, 2024, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family at St. Peter’s Hospital. Antonio now joins his late wife, Immacolata, in eternal rest.
Antonio was the cherished father of Domenica De Luca (Rino) and Giacomo Luppino, and the loving nonno of Joseph, Antonio, and Giacomo. He is predeceased by his parents, Giacomo and Domenica (nee Todaro) Luppino, as well as his in-laws Michele and Maria (nee Monteleone) Sorrenti. Antonio was a dear brother and brother-in-law to the late Vincenzo Luppino (Maria), the late Maria (late Giovanni) Ferraro (Italy), the late Caterina (Giacomo) Frisina, Rocco (Helen) Luppino, Natale (late Concetta) Luppino, Carmela (late Domenico) Rugolo (Italy), Grazia (late Paolo) Violi, Domenico (Rose) Luppino, Giovanni (Rosa) Luppino, late Caterina Sorrenti (Italy), Anna (late Gerardino) Di Livio, and the late Vincenza (late Giuseppe) Trimboli (Italy). Antonio will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada and Italy.
Antonio was more than a mere presence in our lives; he was the cornerstone of our family, radiating warmth and love to all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering compassion touched the lives of many. Antonio's heart of gold ensured that everyone felt cared for and loved; his door was always open, and his table always had an extra seat for visitors. His zest for life, contagious laughter, and welcoming nature brought joy to every gathering. His stories filled rooms with laughter, leaving lasting memories.
As we reflect on Antonio's life, we are reminded of his boundless love for his family and friends. His legacy is simple yet profound: he showed his children and grandchildren the true meaning of love, appreciation, and respect. Though we will miss him deeply, his spirit will forever guide us.
Rest in peace, dear Papa. Your memory will be cherished, and your love will live on in our hearts forever.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Maricel, whose unwavering love and compassion provided comfort and support to our beloved Toto during his final months. Maricel's dedication and kindness were truly remarkable, and her presence over the past 6 years made a profound difference in Antonio's life. Maricel’s selfless care and tireless efforts exemplified the true meaning of compassion, and we will forever be grateful. Maricel became not only a caregiver, but also a cherished member of our family.
We would like to thank all the doctors and medical teams for their guidance over his long medical years. A special thank you to Dr. Lino LaGrotteria for his support over the years in caring for dad. The wonderful PSW’s who helped us care for dad at home. A special thank you to Dr. Solomon and the team of nurses at St. Peter’s Palliative Care 3West for their compassion and care in his final months with them.
