In Celebration of

Bernard "Bunny" Laderoute

August 30, 1921 -  March 4, 2017

LADEROUTE, Bernard (Bunny) Cleveland
Passed from this world to the next with family by his side, on Saturday, March 4 2017, at Willow Grove Estates in his 96th year.
Bunny is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Carmel of 69 years, and will always remain dear to his children: William (Bill) of Toronto and Ann(Paul) Richey of Moose Jaw, SK. Dear Grampa to Lisa (Moose Jaw) and Nicole (Pordenone, Italy). Great Grampa to Kohl and Reed.
Bernard is predeceased by his parents; Daniel and Barbara (Ethier) Laderoute and an infant daughter in 1952, as well as siblings, Elric, Denis, Cecil, Clarence, Rene, Quinton and Lennox.
He is survived by siblings; Marie, Gabrielle, Patricia, Judith, Shirley Betty, Aurell, Emmett, Ambrose and Nelligan
Bunny was born and raised in LaPasse, Ontario. He moved to Hamilton as a young man for work and shortly thereafter met his soulmate, Carmel Whitty. They were married in 1948 and made Hamilton their home for the next 69 years. He was a loyal StelCo employee for 30 years and when he retired, he and Carmel enjoyed travelling and spending their winters as Snowbirds in Florida. He was an avid Euchre player and they could be found several evenings each week at local club and church Euchre games. He always loved to tease and joke with the little ones and would perk right up tossing a balloon through the air with any youngster. Bunny was also the fastest of anybody at finding the outside pieces of a jig saw puzzle!
A special thanks to the staff of Willow Grove Estates for their friendly and dedicated care of Bunny during his stay with them.

Private cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home, “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Foundation or the charity of your choice. Please sign the online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca.

It is with sadness that I find out that Uncle Bunny has passed.I stayed with Him and Aunt Carmel, when I moved to Hamilton. He was always jovial and had that big smile on his face. He was a very hard worker and a dedicated employee @ Stelco.I was @ Dofasco and we compared work situations many times. Bunny being in a union and me not. My deepest, heartfelt condolences go out to, Aunt Carmel, cousins Anne, Billy and family's. May uncle "Bunny" rest in peace
