In Celebration of

Carlo Napoleone

February 21, 1930 -  December 20, 2018

After a courageous battle with Leukemia, Carlo was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, December 20th at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving wife Domenica of 61 years, daughters Marisa, Lorella (Bill) and son Nino (Nadia). Adored Nonno of Nick (Jennifer), Sara (Kyle), Carlo, Alexander, Nicholas and proud Bisnonno of Ruby and Grace. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings Lucia and the late Santino DiRenzo of France, Ottavio and Anna Napoleone, Antonietta and the late Remo DiBiase, Livia and Rocco Centurione and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donato and Laura DiGiovanni. Also, family from Switzerland and Italy, the late brother-in-law Camillo (Anna), Pietro (Maria), Santino (Maria) and Maria (Remo). Predeceased by his parents Leonino and Concetta, his brother and sister-in-law Emidio and Eva and niece Loredana, his brother and sister-in-law Gino and Antonietta. Will also be fondly remembered by cousins, nieces and nephews. As an independent adult, Carlo arrived in Canada at the age of 34. He worked with perseverance and dedication building a life in Canada; raising his family, working in construction, 25 yrs of service as a retired worker of Dofasco. His focus and determination will never be forgotten. Carlo was known for his passion for family and his bountiful garden. He was so proud of keeping his garden in impeccable order. He even loved sharing his homegrown vegetables with neighbours. Family, garden, homemade wine and succulent prosciutto are Carlo's forever signature. In these last few months of his life, we will never forget about the dedicated and caring Staff of Oncology Day Services and C4 at the Juravinski Hospital, LHIN and VON services. Also, special thanks to Dr. Almakadi for your kindness and support. We are thankful for your unselfish care of our father and husband. Although Carlo's last few months were spent dealing with his changing health, his courage, positivity and strength will always guide our days.

I am so very saddened for the whole family mourning the loss of such a gentle and kind father, brother and friend and send my deepest condolences. Carlo lived his life with such integrity, always wanting to ensure the security and safety of his family. I will never forget the time my own mother went to visit Carlo and Domenica, to persuade them to let Lorella join me on a trip I had won. Having gone through their own losses,my mother convinced Carlo that we wouldn't get in to trouble and to let us enjoy our youth. To have his trust was to have his heart. Rest in Peace sweet gentleman.
