Carmelina Ippolito

September 29, 1934 -  January 26, 2025

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Carmelina Ippolito in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Calogero Ippolito. Loving mother of the late Lina Ciofani and her husband Robert Ciofani, the late Mary Wegner and her husband Alfred Wegner, Luisa Faulkner and her husband Gord. Proud Nonna of Rob Ciofani, Lisa Ciofani, Michael & May Wegner, and Carla & Tina Beattie. Great grandmother to Owen and Alexander Beattie. Predeceased by her parents Luigi & Maria Restivo. Daughter-in-law of the late Carmelo & Carmela Ippolito. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Paolina & Calogero Alfano, the late Ignazio & Giuseppina Restivo, Margaret Collura & the late Luigi Collura, the late Lillian & Tino Genovese, and the late Lorenza Restivo. Loved sister-in-law of the late Salvatore & Maria Ippolito, the late Giovanni & Giuseppina Ippolito, Angelo & Rosetta Ippolito, the late Angela & Calogero Falletta, and Giuseppina & Salvatore Giangreco. Dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Carmelina was born in Racalmuto, Sicily and immigrated to Canada in 1949 when she was 15 years old. She devoted her life to her family and her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing a game of Briscola but be prepared to lose. She will be deeply missed.

Thank you to her family doctor Dr. Matteo Castelluzzo and staff for her care. Special thanks to St. Joseph’s Villa Day Program for their compassion and care. Also special thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth Home Care and Paramed Respite Care who came to the home to help with Carmelina’s care.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, on Wednesday, January 29th from 4-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Thursday, January 30th at 10am. Burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made to www.baygardens.ca
