LARATTA, Chiara (nee Sgro)

Peacefully while surrounded by her loving family, at Pine Villa Nursing Home on Monday December 3rd 2018, in her 96th year, predeceased by her loving husband Nicola. Dear mother of Joe and his wife Brenda, Vito and his wife Clorinda and Frank and his wife Linda. Loving Nonna of Clara Jo, Joe (Rochelle), Angela (Jeff), Nick (Pina), Sonia, Nick (Laura), Daniele (Susie) and Francesco (Daniella). Loving great grandmother of Steven, Kaitlin, Taylor, Logan, Raymond, Gordon, Samantha, Liliana, Marcus, Olivia, Tiago, Jordano, Isabella, Milo and Chiara. Dear sister of, Giuseppe (Catherine), Alfonso (Anna), Caterina (Nicola), Pasquale (Doreen) and Salvatore (Rose). Predeceased by her parents Vito and Maria Antonia Sgro, sisters Vittoria (the late Salvatore), Rosina (the late Paulo), Maria Carlotta (Rocco). Chiara will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.A special thank you to the entire staff at Pine Villa Nursing home for their excellent care of our Mother and Nonna.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.

Nonna was passionate about supporting causes that impacted our family, specifically Sick Kids, JDRF, Heart and Stroke, The Canadian Cancer Society and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
