September 7, 1925 - November 19, 2015

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Clarke "Shady" in his 91st year at St. Peter's. Survived by his loving wife Margaret "Meg" of 66 years. Loving dad to Gail and Brian Hotrum, Patty and Doug Fletcher and Melody Lane. Treasured "Papa" to Jason McGee and Leigh Moore, Brandon and Shannon McGee, Mandy and Greg Detmar, Amie Fletcher and Lane Daschko. Adored "Great Papa" to Gwennie and Camden, Johnny and Lauren, Jacob and Lucas. Survived by his sister Shirley Buck and her family. Predeceased by brother Harvey. He will be missed by the breakfast club at Grandma Willies, neighbours and friends. Clarke was a retired Deputy Chief of the Hamilton Wentworth Regional Police. He was also the President of Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police as well as a life member of Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. During his career he was also a past Board Member of the Hamilton Municipal Employees Credit Union. Clarke was also a Veteran of WWII Royal Canadian Navy. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of 3 East Palliative Care Unit at St. Peter's Hospital.

A wonderful man. A wonderful, dear friend for 15 years. Every one of my staff loved Clark, and so did many other customers who also became friends with him..he always teased us and we teased him right back. We will miss you terribly Clark, we will look after Meg.

Had the honour to have worked with Hamilton Police Dept. when Clarke was Deputy Chief. He was a gentleman and great example of what policing should look like. Our condolences to all of his family. Angie and Ed Hall.
