Dennis Andrew Lugowy
March 15, 1946 - September 24, 2016
Obituary
Lugowy, Dennis Andrew
CPA, CA, LPA, BA, CPA, CGMA (ILLINOIS)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful man on September 24th, 2016. Dennis was surrounded by his family at home after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Loving husband of Donna (nee Prigoda) and cherished dad of Sonya (Andrew), Dennis is survived by his mother Helen and sister Paulette, and predeceased by his father Andrew. Beloved brother- in- law of Dennis Prigoda, and uncle to many nieces and nephews across North America. Dennis was the founder of Lugowy Associates, Chartered Accountants, and practiced in Hamilton for over forty years. He was committed to his community and served as chair on several charitable boards during his career. Dennis was a long time member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, and loved his Sunday morning golf with friends. Dennis' family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Barry Lumb, Dr. Stanley Yu, Dr. Serge Puksa and Dr. Angelo Zizzo for their friendship and support over the past two years. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday September 29th, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held, and a celebration of Dennis' life will take place on Wednesday October 5th from 2-4 at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada. Please sign the online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca

As a kid, the Lugowy home was like a 2nd home for me and my sister. We shared many good times and experiences with the Lugowy family growing up. I was very sorry to hear this news and my heart goes out to Donna and Sonya.

With love,
Alana

Donna, my most heartfelt condolences to both you and Sonya.
Dennis' quirky smirk of a smile will be so greatly missed by the many who have laughed so much, and also shared so much with him over the years. As a youngster, I used to look forward to visiting with my brother and his roommates in Hamilton and I used to just love seeing Dennis! He always made me laugh so hard, and he was always such a warm, caring and friendly guy! Well since those years, he was that and much more to very many others; including Rick. I know he will be sorrowfully missed by many and my heart pours out to you and the whole family. May all his great memories remain at your side, so that his smile can always keep you warm and filled with his great love!

Dear Donna, Sonya and Andrew:

Heartfelt condolences to you and family.

No more music from Dennis' accordion. His presence on weekend golf and lunch will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace, my friend.
