So Sad to hear that you have left us. I realize now that life is just a short journey onto the next and I know because you left an impression on so many people's lives I know you will be ok.. I thank you Derek for making me laugh when I needed it and just making everyone feel good in that way only you could do You were a very unique person and we will always remember you .....good memories and for being our friend for so many years...Buster is away up north and I am headed to Niagara falls for a trip planned months ago...otherwise we would have both been there tomorrow to say good-bye. God speed our friend and forever be happy until we meet again.......Buster & Edie Almas

Rest In Peace Uncle Derek.
Still can't believe that you are gone. I know you're in a better place with the woman you love, but it doesn't make the hurt that is felt by both of your passing any easier. I will always remember you both and cherish the memories our families made together.Lots of love, until we meet again.
