Doug will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years AnnMarie and his children Mark (Kathy), Scott (Heather), Darlene (Terry), Nadine (Rick) and Jill (Scott). He was a great friend and mentor to his grandchildren Aaron and Kyle (Katie), Matthew (Nancy) and Katie, Brittany and Nicole, Mitchell and Nicholas. Fun travelling companions of Al and Dora Clark. He was a dedicated employee of Honeywell for 56 years. Doug loved to spend time with the family, travelling to Florida every year, playing golf and fishing. The family would like to thank all the compassionate nurses and staff at Idlewyld Manor for their continual care.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Service being held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 947 Rymal Road E. Hamilton on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 3:00pm. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.baygardens.ca

Dear AnnMarie and Family- so sorry to read about the passing of Doug - I have many fond memories of our fun times together during our early Honeywell years eg golf, cards and yes work too! - Doug certainly had mentoring skills as he just did an excellent job of taking a young rookie under his wing and showing me the ropes when I first arrived at the Parkdale office - please know that we are thinking about you at this difficult time
Sincerely and with love

We have many great memories of Doug. One of our favourites is the day our sewer line backed up and flooded the basement. He hauled buckets of water out the basement when I was 8 months pregnant. We still miss the summer days of chatting over the fence in the back yard with Doug and Anne Marie.

We were so saddened to learn of Doug’s passing, and we would like to express our
sincere condolences to the whole family. We have spent many vacations with Doug & Ann Marie; both in Florida, and on various trips abroad! We are currently in Florida, & unfortunately, will be unable to attend the memorial service, for Doug.
However, we are fondly remembering the fun times, the many laughs, & the serious
discussions we had while sitting on the Lanai, at one of our Florida rental houses!
Although, not there in person, we WILL be there in spirit, and we must believe that
Doug is at peace now. God’s speed, dear friend!

Doug was my mentor during the short time I was able to work with him at Honeywell. He was an amazing person and I feel blessed to have known him. He was a role model and truly cared about his work and the people within it. He will be missed.
