In Celebration of

Dr. Anita Rawana

March 1, 1978 -  April 19, 2024

It is with profound sadness, our family announces the passing of Dr. Anita Evelyn Rawana, loving mother of Victor, loving daughter of Paddy and Dave and dearest sister of Alicia.

Dr. Anita Rawana was born on March 1,1978 in Hamilton, Ontario at McMaster University Hospital and died peacefully on Friday April 19,2024 at 9.52 a.m. surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her son Victor who is five years of age and attends Hillfield Stratallan Montessori.

The day before she passed, Victor went into her room and said, “mom open up your eyes and speak to me“ and made the sign of an heart with his fingers and he kissed her hand. There was no immediate response and she barely uttered the words, “I love you son and don’t you forget it” and went back to sleep.

Anita was a professor at Mohawk College for over 10 years and she has just recently achieved her PhD. in Education. She wanted to return to teaching in spite of her illness as she wanted to see her students finish the semester.

She will be dearly missed by her son, her parents Dave and Paddy and her sibling Alicia and all her many cousins. friends, relatives and acquaintances.

Anita was deeply religious and embraced all faiths and cultures. We believe that she is in now God’s care.
