Araiche, Dr. Manawel (Issa), DDS, MS
Suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, Manawel passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Jerusalem, Palestine, on June 17, 1930, Manawel studied in several countries until he settled in Canada with his wife. He was an accomplished medical professional, earning 13 degrees and certificates in the medical field, and worked as a dentist, anaesthesiologist, pathologist and dental surgeon, finally starting a dental practice on the Hamilton Mountain. His second career and love was investing in the stock market. Manawel lived his life with integrity, faith and a strong work ethic. Manawel is survived by his loving wife Diane and five children, Denise, Gabriel (Lisa), Rima (Andrew), Leila (Gabe) and Danielle and by his eight grandchildren whom he loved so much - Charles, Issa Daniel, Nicole, Danielle, Julia, Veronica, Hala and James. They will carry on his legacy of love and faith. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Richard (Diana), Leila (Frank), and Edgar (Nariman) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, January 12th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 8:30 pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 13th at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek, ON L8J 2W9. Cremation will follow.
