Dear Grandma,

I wanted to share the speech I did not get to give when I said goodbye to you.

From the time I was born you've kept me close. Every day you prayed for me, fed me, supported me, loved me, and argued with me to do the right thing. I remember when I was a kid I'd go straight to your house when you moved next door to us to watch soap operas together. You always had hot food ready for me on a plate when I got there. You'd take me to pujas and make me sit and listen. We watched and went to wrestling events together. We'd argue about who's the strongest wrestler and take bets on who would win matches. Even after I moved we called each other after every pay per view to talk about it.

I'd fight with Mom and Dad you'd always take their side because they were my parents and I should always respect their sacrifices. You'd always listen to my life struggles and help me through them. When we moved we'd call each other almost every day and talk about my life. I would just vent to you about my problems and you would listen and tell me to pray and have faith that God has a plan for me. You helped me plan my wedding that you were supposed to be at and shared my excitement.

My biggest sorrow in losing you is that my children will never know the joy of having you in their lives. I promise you they will know you, Shiva and Maelle will know you, and every child to come will know you. I could never thank you enough for what you have done for me, but I love you and I miss you and I can't wait to see you again one day.

Love Always,
Darien

Grandma,
I know I haven’t been a part of the family for very long; I don’t know all the family childhoods, the family jokes, the family gatherings, and every family memory with you…but what I do know is that you were truly loved and that you loved every one back just the same, if not more. You have made such an impact on your family’s lives, giving every one a piece of your wisdom and kindness, which will never be forgotten-- You will never be forgotten.
I am truly grateful and happy to have met one of your most beloved grandsons. I know whenever he talked to you on the phone or came to visit you, he’d always be laughing and smiling. Whenever anyone spoke of you, there was laughter and positivity. We will continue to take care of and be there for each other through all the good and any of the bad. We won’t let you down, Grandma.
I am blessed to have known such a selfless and heartening woman. I know you are with each and every one of our hearts for eternity. As we continue to live our lives to the fullest, I will have so much more to say- so many stories to tell when the time comes where we’ll meet again.

Rest in peace, Grandma.

Love,
April

Grandma,

We will never forgot everything you have taught and done for us. You always defended us and expressed how proud you were. You never declined when I asked you to attend major events, like my graduation, birthday parties, etc.

Thanksgiving will never be same because we always met up with you at my mom's house. Your jokes were one of a kind and I'll really miss the sound of your voice.

You always wanted to make sure we were doing well, and for that we're very grateful for you.

Now that we're having kids of our own, we'll make sure they grow up knowing what a wonderful person you are.

We all miss and love you very much.
