Elia Castronovo

August 10, 1943 -  April 24, 2022

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Elia Castronovo. He passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 78.
Elia will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife of 54 years Antonietta, his children, Mary-Angela (Taras) Korec Giovanna (Loreto) Leombruni, Decimo (Lisa) Castronovo. He is deeply etched in the hearts of his treasured grandchildren, Gabriella (Troy) Schierling, Tanya, Christian, Cynthia, Michael, Isabella and Matteo, and by his great grandchildren, Emelia and Celeste.
He is predeceased by his parents, Decimo and Mariangela Castronovo and his late in-laws Salvatore and Giovanna Baio.
Dear brother and brother in law of the late Decimo Castronovo, the late Antonio (Anna) Castronovo , the late Giovanni and Gerlanta Castronovo, the late Providenza and Giacomo Cimino, the late Antonietta and Carmelo DiGirgenti, Francesca (late Leonardo) Castiglione, Maria (Giuseppe) Calandrino, the late Grazia (Salvatore) Butera, Giuseppina (late Vittorio) DiPietro, the late Paquale (Maria) Baio, Carmela (Calogero) Butera. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
He was retired with over 40 years of service from the United Association Of Journeymen & Apprentices Plumbing & Pipe Fitting Industry Local 67. He will be deeply missed by his family as a hard working and loving husband, father, Nonno and Great Nonno.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Juravinski Hospital for their compassionate and professional care.
Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East in Hamilton ON, L8W 3M2 on April 27th, from 6p.m. to 9p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Regina Mundi Catholic Church, 631Mohawk Rd W, Hamilton, ON L9C 1X7 on April 28th at 10:00am. Entombment is to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the Good Shepherd Centre of Hamilton.
