In Celebration of

Francesco Quaranta

February 10, 1934 -  February 26, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Francesco (Ciccilo) Quaranta. Francesco passed away Monday February 26th, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinsons disease and has been reunited with his beloved wife Francesca in heaven. Francesco is the much-loved father and father-in- law of Joe (Karen) Quaranta, Angela Quaranta, Rosa (Sam) Alfano and loving nonno to Frankie, Joey (Ashley), Natalie, Marina, Julian, Sebastian, and great grandfather to Francesco. Francesco is predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Angela (nee Mitola) Quaranta. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Giuseppe (Lina), Michele (Rosa), Lucia (Giuseppe), and Anna (late Michele), his brothers- and sisters-in-law Pierino (Angela), Silvia (late Franco), Antonio (Lena), Gina (late Gaetano), Domenico (Natalia), Maria (late Lilino) , and Vincenza, and his many nieces and nephews in Italy, USA, and Venezuela.

Francesco was born February 10th, 1934 in Ceglie del Campo Bari, Italy. He came to Canada in 1965 to explore bigger and better opportunities for his young family. His wife and kids joined him months later where they set their roots in Hamilton, Ontario. Here, Francesco provided for his family through his skilled carpentry trade and eventually became a dedicated employee of Arcelor Mittal Dofasco for over 30 years.

Francesco loved to be surrounded by his family and dear friends, travelling, playing cards, dancing and singing. In his retirement years, he embraced his passion of singing by joining the Hamilton Geritol Follies Choir Group and the Coro Abruzzese of Hamilton and District. He was especially proud to perform his favourite Italian songs in duets and solos.

Special thanks to the staff at Macassa lodge, especially the PSW’s, nurses, Dr. Khera and Dr. Campbell for their care and compassion over the years.

I would like to give my condolences to Angela, Rosa, Joe and the Quaranta family, When I arrived at work today I was so saddened to see that Frank wasn't there. It was a pleasure to get to know Frank and help care for him when he needed us, we are gonna miss him and his family at Macassa.
I will remember your Dad and reflect on that time how I spent it with Frank learning words in Italian and helping him with all his daily needs. It still doesn't seem real but I know in my heart he's with God and at peace...
May happy memories fill your sorrow and may Frank and Francesca dance forever more. RIParadise
