Miranda, Frank
With heavy hearts we inform you of the peaceful passing of Frank at the age of 61 on March 3 2016. Loving husband of Elcina Miranda of the best 43 years. Giving father to four wonderful children Octavio (Rose), Eddie (Selma), Nelcy and Sandy (Frank). Loving grandfather to Lucas, Sierra, Alivia, Elio, Abigail and Alexander. Loving Great grandfather to Jeremy. Predeceased by his parents Manuel and Maria Cordeiro. Loving Brother to Joe Miranda (Teresa), Louis Cordeiro (Lorraine), Manuel Cordeiro (Maria José) and Tony Cordeiro (Maria Fatima). Brother in law to Carmela (the late Alfred), Lilliana (Manuel), Manuel (Lurdes), Fatima (José), José (Brenda) and John (Oriana). Frank will also be missed by an abundant number of nieces, nephews, family and friends here and overseas. Best friend forever Manny Roque.

Great supporter of the Hamilton Community especially of James Street North. Proud owner of the Lighthouse since 1985 located on James Street North. Frank loved to laugh, party, music, the movie "Dirty Dozen" and his extended family especially his goats.

“There is nothing that can replace the absence of someone dear to us, and one should not even attempt to do so. One must simply hold out and endure it. At first that sounds very hard, but at the same time it is also a great comfort. For to the extent the emptiness truly remains unfilled one remains connected to the other person through it. It is wrong to say that god fills the emptiness, God in no way fills it but much more leaves it precisely unfilled and thus helps us preserve even in pain, the authentic relationship. Further more, the more beautiful and full the remembrances, the more difficult the separation. But gratitude transforms the torment of memory into silent joy. One bears what was lovely in the past not as a thorn but as a precious gift deep within, a hidden treasure of which one can always be certain.” –Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

On behalf of everyone at Cathedral Place, may I offer condolences to Franks family. We so well remember Frank's generosity and friendship when we began the Breakfast Club at the Cathedral; we all know what a proud and dedicated merchant he was and how much he believed in and supported Jamesville and James Street North.

May he rest in peace; may wonderful memories sustain his family.

We prayed for his soul this morning at the liturgy; we will remember him all of this week at our daily masses.

Fondly remembered,

Fr. Peter Wall, Dean and Rector

Dear Miranda Family,
So sorry to hear about Frank's passing. We were school friends when he first came from Portugal and were happy to see each other occasionally at the store. A wonderful guy!
My thoughts are with you.
