May 25, 1944 - August 31, 2016
Obituary
Gaille Marie Prowse passed away at age 72 in the presence of loved ones on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton.

Gaille was born on May 25, 1944 in Lynden Ontario. Her parents were the late Thomas and Jennie Kivell (Stenabaugh). She was the second youngest of seven children raised by Thomas and Jennie; Verna Beal (Kivell), Verne Kivell, Arial Robb (Kivell), Welda Roach (Kivell), Bob Kivell, and Thomas Kivell. With the exception of Thomas, all preceded her in death. Her birth mother was Verna Kivell.

Gaille was educated at a secretarial college in Brantford and after a short career and the divorce from her first husband, she focused on raising her two young children Steven Jay Prowse and Shari Lee Prowse. Unfortunately, Steven passed away suddenly in 1978.

In the 1980’s she worked as a professional bartender and then a laborer’s assistant at Dofasco in Brantford. She retired in mid-1990 with the passing of her second spouse Dave Woychenko.

Gaille enjoyed travelling, reading and movies and had a soft spot for abandoned cats. She visited Cuba, Hawaii, Mexico and various other places in the United States and Canada throughout her life. She enjoyed a quiet life that included family and a small circle of close friends. Her granddaughter Molly Gaille Moorhouse was the light of her life and was the focal point of her later years.

Her daughter Shari, her granddaughter Molly, her bother Thomas, her sisters Crystal Doleman and Marie Hohl-Miller and a host of nieces and a nephews and friends survive her. She was loved and will be missed.

Gaille will be cremated at Bayview Gardens Cemetery and Crematorium, Burlington. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday September 10, 2016 at 11 am at Bay Gardens Funeral Home in Burlington. Lunch will follow at noon.

The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made in Gaille’s name to the Canadian Lung Association.
