It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our Uncle Gary (Robert) Young, who quietly left our world on July 8, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Reunited with his beloved Karen (2020). Greatly missed by niece Kelly (Chris), nephew Jon (Fran), sister-in-law Diane, brothers Carl and Fred, great nephews, and nieces, as well as many lifelong friends.

Born in London, ON, Gary had a love for football and working hard. He graduated early and started a career in banking at a young age. Gary was a respected Scotia Banker and retired after a long career. He loved travelling with Karen, the outdoors, fishing and enjoying time near the water.

“Forever Loved, Never Forgotten”

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road E. Hamilton (905.574.0405) on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following, Gary will be laid to rest and interred with Karen at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls, ON.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Juravinski Hospital would be appreciated.

Gary endured many hard ships in his life and was loved and respected by us for his strength and resilience. Although we didn't see each other often due to distance, the reunions were always memorable and he was often in our thoughts and conversations.

Condolences to the family on the sad passing of Gary. Heartfelt thoughts go out to you during this time of sorrow. I will always remember Gary's laughter and how he articulated his thoughts and opinions. He made any get togethers fun and memorable.
Thank You Jon for advising me of Gary's passing and I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the funeral as I am out of province. Rest in peace Gary.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Gary’s passing. I knew Gary as a friend and fellow Scotiabanker for over 30 years. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
