In Celebration of

Giuseppe Martorana

MARTORANA, Giuseppe
It is with profound sadness that we share with you the passing of Giuseppe Martorana on July 20, 2017 at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in his 87th year. Forever loved by his wife of 62 years Dora (Miraglia). Adored by his children Gina (Larry Nason), Maria (Wally Wyman), Mike, and Sandra (Charlie Principato). Nonno had a very special bond with all his grandchildren Michael, Ginette, Christina, Amanda, Sarah, Danielle, Jason, Matthew, Adriana, Elaina and Marissa, who all in their own way wrapped themselves around his heart. The joys of his life were his 8 great-grandchildren. His family always brought a sparkle to his eye and a smile to his face. Much loved brother to the late Michele (Rosetta) Martorana, Ersilia Martorana, Giorgio (Santina) Martorana. Dear brother in-law to Rosario and the late Lucia Martorelli, Frank and Lina Amodio. Nephew to Salvatore Venniro and Lina Venniro. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Europe. Giuseppe immigrated from Sicily at the age of 24 when he married his loving wife Dora. Together they successfully raised their family, instilling the importance of love, family values and strong work ethic to everyone he touched. Proud employee of Stelco until his retirement in 1990. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. Special thanks to Dr. Lino Lagrotteria and all the caring staff and volunteers at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Sunday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, with vigil prayers offered at 3:30 pm and from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Regina Mundi Roman Catholic Church, 631 Mohawk Road West, Hamilton on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 am. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.
