In Celebration of

Iris Cinq-Mars

MAY 31, 1940 - NOVEMBER 1, 2017

Peacefully with her family by her side at Emmanuel House on Wednesday November 1st, 2017 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of the late Gilles Gaston for 45 years. A loving and devoted mother in all ways. Mom to Philip(Suzanne), Michael (Karen) and Gilles (Charmaine). A proud and loving Gramma to Joseph, Kathleen, Taylor, Benjamin, Lise, Jean Luc, Lauren, Marc and Gabriel. Dear sister of the late George Menu. Iris was a devoted nurse of the old school. She worked in a variety of disciplines for close to 40 years in Smooth Rock Falls and Penetanguishene Ontario. Always interested in further development and never backing down from a challenge she held a seat on council in Penetanguishene for several years. Iris was an avid bridge player and loved to knit, play golf, and pursued a life long love of painting on canvas. She made the best pies and her canned peaches and jams will be sorely missed. A special thank you to Emmanuel House and Ward C 3 at the Juravinski Cancer Center.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Iris. We had the honour of spending time with Iris at all the family holiday gatherings and had the pleasure of enjoying her delicious pies. We will miss the great conversations had with Iris during those family gatherings and we will miss hearing the stories of her past professional life as a nurse. Our condolences go out to the Cinq-Mars and extended family

Gilles and Charmaine and family,

I have enjoyed Iris's company the times that I spent with her at various family gatherings. She had a great sense of humour that I could relate to. I remember how happy she was when last Christmas she asked about the Jalapeno loaf that I had brought and how much she loved it! Everyone else said it was too hot & spicy so I told her she could take it home. She was like a kid in a candy shop! She will be missed by all her knew her. Love and hugs Jeannie

Iris will be forever missed. A very special niece to aunt Neets and uncle Hardy. As kids Iris always made us laugh and feel full of joy. I was such a proud little girl when she choose me to be her flower girl for her wedding. She was the best long distance cousin I could ask for.
Over the years Iris has made several trips to Regina. When she left we were always way more of knowledgeable on our family history. I will miss her phone calls on the updates of all her beautiful children and grand children she was so very proud of.
Rest In Peace dear cousin. You shall forever be in my heart❤️
