Obituary
DUNLOP, James William (“Jim”)
With love and great dignity, Jim passed away after a courageous battle against cancer, on October 2, 2015, at the age of 64, at Juravinski Hospital.
Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Janice Dunlop (nee Tomalty) and their children Adam and Claire Dunlop, Rachel and Michael Leone. Jim is now watching over his future grandchildren arriving in 2016.
Jim was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Joyce and William Dunlop and in-laws Viola and Oscar Tomalty. Brother-in-law of Penny (John), Lee (Myrna), Bob (Maureen), MaryLynn (Jesse), Joel (Sharon), Kathie (Ron), Susan (Ron), Barbara (Randy), Lori (David), Kim (Kevin) and entertaining uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a simple man who loved to spend time with his family and many friends. His fond memories were playing the drums in a band, listening to music and spending time at home watching sports at his bar cheering on his teams, the Seahawks and Tiger-Cats. He had a unique sense of humour and a contagious laugh. Nothing made him happier than to make you laugh with a witty joke or give you a clever nick-name.
A special thank you to all of our family and friends who have surrounded Jim and his family during his battle. They helped fill his life with love, compassion, laughter and support.
As per Jim’s wishes private cremation has taken place.

Dear Jan, Adam & Claire, Rachel & Michael
We are so sorry to hear of your great loss. We know it has been a long road for all of your
family. Jim was a great guy, he always made you feel welcome, & had a great sense of
humour. It has been our pleasure to know him, & be a part of the families. We will always
remember him. He brought us great joy at Cheryl's wedding. A good time had by all.
Jim God Bless you on your journey to our new home. Keep smiling.
With Love & Sympathy to All. Dennis & Sharon Ward. |

Jim, you have been in my life since I was 7 years old. You have been a brother (from another mother). We have all shared many happy life events together, from weddings, to births of our kids, to many fun parties. You let me hold Adam when he was brand new, and as you stood just inches away. You held my hand as we watched "The Ghost of Mr. Chicken", but I know you were as scared as Barb and I were. You were a fun uncle to my boys, you were good to my aging parents, and you always loved my sister.
May you rest in peace Jimmy, knowing that we will always be here for Jan, and will be loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins for your kids and soon to arive grand babies.
Until we meet again, Love Lori

In the car last night, the Saturday night fever song came on. Ron and I started laughing about the night we went to see the movie with Jan and Jim. As we left the crowed theatre at Jackson Square, jim was imitating the guy ahead on us, when all of a sudden Jim stops and picks something up, than he tapped the guy ahead of us on the shoulder and says , excuse me I think you lost your heel? The guy took it without saying a word. We laughed for days about that. You had to be there. Just one of the many good times with Jim. Don't worry there will be no forgetting about him, he is in our hearts forever. Have fun up there, and after seeing all of the family, don't forget to give our old boy Frankie a
scratch and a biscuit for us. We will see you on the other side. Love Ron and Kathie |

Jan and family My deepest condolences. I hadn't seen Jim for many years but we crossed paths maybe 5-6 years ago at a Memorial Service in Waterdown. Jim was a well liked guy and we shared some memories of the antics we did at Westmount and had a great laugh about those times and the blast that we had together and with others. He sure had an infectious laugh. A great guy! No doubt his positive attributes will have touched many.
Sincerely
