In Celebration of

Jason Edward Miller

June 2, 1971 -  May 25, 2017

MILLER, Jason Edward
(June 2, 1971 - May 25, 2017)

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Jason just a week before his 46th birthday. He is survived by his father Chris Miller (Barb Minnett), his sister Jackie Dekar (Nate), his son Jack Miller and Jack's mother Jennifer Miller. Predeceased by his mother Gay, grandparents Norma and Jack Churchill, Uncle Gary Churchill, Great-Aunt Wilhelmina Wallace and grandmother Lorraine Miller. Jason was kind, warm, thoughtful, and generous. His quick wit and keen sense of humour meant he was often entertaining a room full of friends. Simply put, he was a bright light in the lives of many. Sadly, that light dimmed in recent years as he struggled with addiction. So many of his friends and family achingly tried to help guide him but he couldn't find his way back to those who loved him. We extend our love and gratitude to all those who offered support, encouraged him, stood at his side and today, still remember the person he was. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Bay Gardens Funeral Home located at 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington. Reception to follow at Bay Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation in support of mental health programs. Condolences can be left at www.baygardens.ca

Such a sad time. He was much too young. Our thoughts are with you.

To Chris, Jackie, Jack, Jennifer, and other family of Jason Miller: My sincere condolences on the loss of Jason. Jason and I went back a long way -- to the days when he worked at Stan's Esso Station on Main Street. The last few years we were members of the Hamilton Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We worked together on several occasions helping other members with moving, visiting them in the hospital and in their homes. He was a great guy with whom to spend time. We will miss him in our Elders Quorum. He spoke often and positively about his father, sister, and son. I am sorry I am unable to be at his celebration of life today at 1:00 p.m. A medical appointment my wife must keep prevents me from attending. Jason will not be forgotten by his fellow quorum and church members.
We loved his great spirit. Ken Shoesmith, Bishop.
