Obituary
Joel Adam Powell
June 16,1980 - December 30, 2015
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of an incredible man, Mr. Joel Adam Powell. Joel was a fighter who dedicated his life to fitness and sharing his knowledge of wrestling and MMA with the individuals he coached. He had the kindest heart and did whatever he could to help those who needed him. His sudden death has left his family and friends in shock and turmoil. He is survived by his wife, his siblings, his mother, his friends and his beloved dog. Joel will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Rest In Peace my love. Never Fade.

Joel, I consider myself truly blessed to have met you and call you a friend (and boyfriend). You were an amazing individual who accepted people without judgment and open arms. One of your greatest joys was making other people happy. I'm still struggling to accept that you were taken from us so soon. I wish I could give you one last hug or have one last workout with you (even though I may have cursed on you during those). I will forever hold on to memories we shared. I love you and will never forget you. May you Rest in Peace xoxo

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. He was such a kind hearted and giving person who brought so many gifts to our lives. He will truly be missed. My heart is with you at this time xo

I did not know Joel very well........but from what I saw he was a soft spoken, strong, helpful, generous, and kind man. I always saw him at Discipline working out, teaching and helping others.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends at this most difficult time.

Nakuna.. I am so sorry for your loss. You can tell a lot about a man just by listening to what his friends say about him. From what I hear he was an awesome man, one I wish I had the privilege to meet. You and Joel's family and friends are in my thoughts and in my heart.

I am super disheartened to know one of my great friends has lost her husband, lover , confidant, and best friend. It is never easy to accept the loss of a loved one, life is so unfair and unexplainable sometimes. Joel has been taken from this life way to soon, one can never begin to understand the hurt his family and close friends feel. I never met joel but i felt like i knew him by hearing all the wonderful things about him, what an exceptional individual and outstanding athlete.

Words cant even begin to describe the heartbreak i feel for you all, as you are forced to go through this unimaginable tragedy. I pray for you each night, may god fill your heart with comfort and strength.

Rest easy Joel

Nakuna and Powell family please accept my deepest condolences, Joel was a humble man. He left a mark in the world and our hearts with his ability to teach and share his wealth of knowledge for the MMA sport. I was lucky enough to have Joel as my trainer, he knew my goals and helped me achieve them. He was patient and never made me feel out of place regardless of the little knowledge and skill I started with. RIP Joel, we are all blessed for having known you. Fly with the angels and watch over your family and loved ones. God Bless
