In Celebration of

John Harold Walli

John Walli
July 29, 1963 - August 27, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of John Harold Walli announces his unexpected and premature passing, just shortly after his 60th birthday. Above all else, John was a family man, a proud and involved father, husband and a fun-loving friend. He did not leave this world without fighting hard for the life he loved. He leaves behind his loving wife Nancy Ewings, daughters Lauren and Camryn, sisters Martha (Kevin Ellsworth) and Jan, mother-in-law Marilyn (Tom), sisters-in-law Colleen (Steve) and Heather (GG), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends that he loved to be around.
Born in Sudbury to Lois (Hunt) and Einar, both pre-deceased, he grew up in Burlington, attending Lord Elgin High School and Sheridan College (Hotel and Food Administration, and Accounting). He moved to Oakville, married Nancy in 1995 and started his own business, JHW Accounting. His life revolved around his family, whom he cherished. John was fun-loving and always had the crowd laughing, finding humour in every situation. While trying to retire in recent years, many clients resisted his efforts, a testament to the relationships he formed.
He loved people, cars, cooking, music, playing the guitar around the campfire, puns and fishing, and spent as much time as he could at his Lake Muskoka cottage in his boat. He was happiest cooking for those he loved, hosting memorable events for friends and families. The camp on Onaping Lake was another favourite place to retreat to, and he enjoyed carrying on the traditions built by his father and uncles there.
He was generous and kind and well-loved by all. Thank you to all our family and friends and the ICU staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital for their amazing support through this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1st, 1-4 pm at the Burlington Convention Centre, 1120 Burloak Drive. Memories and messages of condolence can be left below. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood, plasma or money to Canadian Blood Services, or to a charity of your choice.

It’s shocking and unfair when someone leaves behind so many who loved them. I met John and Nancy at one of their first homes on Castle Hill Cres in Oakville many years ago.
Sometimes honestly you can just feel the warmth from humans that you have just met. I can say I did. Right away. Yes, he looked adoringly at his wife Nancy and daughters. The family was clearly one of a kind.
I can’t say we hung around BUT…anytime they called on me and even their family I felt honoured and just happy knowing that these people were real. This man will be missed by so many. When they say someone is “one of a kind” and fun, loving, kind and full of laughter and generosity…and when you witness this…all I can say is yes, John Walli you made me and many laugh and feel so welcome to be around.
The door was open, something was baking and kids in pool or yes studying…a glass of wine was offered and it’s what most dream of when they picture an engaging and real family.
Nancy, Lauren, Camryn…and every family member and friend…my sincere condolences and prayers that your bond will help you through this difficult time and that that SMILE AND CONTAGIOUS LAUGHTER will eventually bring a smile to your faces.
He will be missed and remembered forever.

John was a great friend, I have know him for many years. I used to look after his kids when they were small, you couldn’t ask for a better friend and a wonderful dad.

Shared many laughs at Onaping and on Dunlop St. John always had a laugh, smile, and a great story. I miss him, Lois, and Einar and the adventures of the Fukawe tribe.
