PETRUCCELLI, Leondina (Lina)
(nee: Di Stefano)
Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, surrounded by her loving family, in her 98th year, Leondina was reunited with her beloved husband, Donato. Loving mother to Emily (Tony) Minotti, John (Robin), Pat (Ilva), Lucy (Stephen) Brotherston, and Anthony (Susan). Proud and cherished Nonna to Anthony (Carol), Rose (Ray), Donato (Kim), Dina (André), Leanne (Chad), Donato (Maria), Karen (Brian), Julie (Paul), Michael (Jason), David (Jaime), Stephanie, Andrew (Natalia), Matthew (Calsi), Paul and Victoria and to 18 great-grandchildren.
Survived by her sister Anna (the late Flaviano) Izzo, and predeceased by her brother, Michele, and two sisters, Elvira and Santina. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada, USA and Italy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Leondina arrived in Canada in 1954 with three of her children to join her husband, where they later had two more children. They both worked very hard to provide a loving opportunity for their children. Leondina was an accomplished seamstress, who retired from Coppley, Noyes and Randall. Mom enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, shopping, the Casino, but especially spending time with her family and preparing Sunday dinners. Leondina was a devout parishioner of Regina Mundi Parish for over 50 years, and an active member of the Ladies’ Group. A special thanks to the Heritage Trail staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for their care and compassion.
