Marie Giannasi

December 21, 1928 -  January 16, 2017

Suddenly and surrounded by family on January 16th, 2017 in the Juravinski Hospital at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Guido and special friend of the late Joe Dominic. Proud mother of Nancy Fleming (Gary) and Debbie Ertsinian (Alex). Adoring grandmother of Laura Fleming (Jeff) and Madison Ertsinian. Dearest sister to all of her predeceased siblings; Mae (Al), Bertha (John), George and Jack. Wonderful sister-in-law to the late Jenny and Frank McMahon, Lon Giannasi (the late Betty), the late Mary Martinello (Marty) and Adele Granata (Mario). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Marie was a longtime member of TOPS and Sackville Seniors Center and active in the community through playing tennis, bowling, baseball and line dancing. A special thank you to the caring staff at Westmount Terrace and the compassionate nursing team of the Juravinski Orthopedic unit. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, January 19th, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. and from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in Chapel on Friday, January 20th, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the S.P.C.A would be appreciated by the family.
