TEKATCH, Mary Ann (nee Olynyk)
Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Peter's Chedoke, Hamilton, Mary Tekatch, at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late Michael Tekatch (1993) Loving mother of Irene Grabowski (Walter), Gordon Tekatch, Bill Tekatch (Ann), the late Jerry Tekatch and the late Eugene Tekatch (Jean). Cherished Grandma and Baba to the late Maryanne Grabowski, Walter Grabowski, Anthony Tekatch (Cathy), Cathy Gagliardi (Gabe) and Alexandra Tekatch. She will be sadly missed by her great granchildren Travis and Indira Grabowski and Patrick and Gregory Gagliardi. Dear sister of Olga Haluik and Elsie Camponi (Alex). Predeceased by brothers George, William and Mike and by sisters Sophie, Anne, Nellie and Helen. Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Wednesday, June 1st from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Thinking of you all my dear cousins, Irene, Gord, Bill, Jeannie and younger cousins. Your mom, grandma and great-grandma was the salt of the earth. I was fortunate to have grown up sharing
many good times; the Christmas celebrations, the picnics at the lake, the vacations at the Homestead in Goodeve and Ituna, Sask., the motel & restaurant in Renfrew, where her southern fried chicken recipe, delicious cooking & baking made their restaurant famous. Now we celebrate Aunt Mary's wonderful life and we treasure her memories. One such memory I hold is a vision of her in the kitchen baking umpteen amounts of cookies for "her boys". Mmm... what a special person to remember with our love and thanks for living life to the fullest.
