In Celebration of

Michael "Mick" Tracey

TRACEY, Michael
Announcing the peaceful passing of Michael “Mick” Tracey on Sunday, June 18, 2017 with his daughters by his side.

Loving husband and best friend of Margaret for 42 years. Dedicated father to Victoria (Iain) Clarkson and Michelle (Jeff) Renaud. Treasured Grampa of Moya and Saphira. Survived by 6 siblings; Robert (Shirley), Patricia, Jeanette (John), Frank (Margaret), Ian, Brian and his beloved mother Florence. Michael will join his treasured wife Margaret in Heaven.

Born October 10, 1949 in Partick, Scotland, Michael grew up in Drumchapel and was a keen Celtic supporter all his life. A football was never far from his feet. After immigrating to Canada with his wife and two daughters in 1975, Michael continued his soccer career with Sparta, Dundas United and the Emeralds football clubs. Hat-trick Mick was a loyal friend to everyone on and off the field. Supporting his family as an electrician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Michael found the time to champion his co-workers as the President of CUPE Local 786 for 25 years.

Victoria and Michelle would like to sincerely thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton for their exemplary care of Michael. The support provided to the family was above and beyond and for that they are eternally grateful.

Visitation at BAY GARDENS Funeral Home 947 Rymal Road East Hamilton, ON L8W 3M2 on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. with the Celebration of Life to be held in the Chapel at 3 p.m.

I first had the pleasure of working with Mike in his role as CUPE President; years later I was to work with Victoria becoming fast friends. I was blessed to enjoy company of both Mike and Margaret on a few occasions. I will truly miss him, his humour and that great sparkle in his eyes. Sending love and light to Victoria, Michelle and your families xoxo

Dear Michele and Victoria and families:
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear father.
I worked at St. Joes when your dad was union president, and he stood up for us all and was tireless and devoted in his duties.
Take comfort knowing your mom and dad are together now in heaven.
Take care, and God bless.❤️

Uncle Michael. With your handsome good looks and charming nature and devilish sense of humour, you will be sadly missed by us all.
To Victoria and Michelle, my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you both at this time. Nothing prepares you for losing a parent and sadly you've had to endure this twice in such a short time. Hopefully you will find some peace and comfort in the knowledge that both Mum and Dad are again reunited and will continue to watch over you all as you continue make more wonderful memories with your own families.
My thoughts are with you all and I hope you gain strength from each other that will see yous through this difficult time.
Love you Pam
