Mr. Ron Patterson
August 18, 1941 - May 19, 2016
Obituary
PATTERSON, Ronald "Mr. Ron"
August 18, 1941- May 19, 2016

Following a lengthy, spirited tussle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Ron passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on the morning of Thursday, May 19, 2016, in his 75th year. Ron was a family man and for the past 45 years he has been the devoted and loving husband to Donna (nee Kittel). He will be sadly missed by his brother Tom (Muriel), sister-in-law Pat (Terry) and brothers-in-law Terry (Judy), Don (Judi) and Brian (Jean). Ron will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

As a past founder and president of Ultramatic Sleep, Ron's business achievements are too numerous to mention here. Through his many TV and radio appearances, Ron cut an instantly recognized figure in the community, and as philanthropic patron of the arts, his support of Theatre Aquarius is most readily identified by the Ron and Donna Patterson Lobby in the Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton. A Harley Davidson man and world traveler throughout his vibrant life, Ron's extensive adventures are documented elsewhere on video. Ron was a life-long attentive and caring dog-lover and keeper of a succession of his beloved Chow-Chows. A friend of Bill W. for the past 36 years, Ron leaves a legacy of commitment, consideration and friendship following a life well lived. Donna would like to personally thank Dr. Joe Berlingieri, Dr. Harpal Singh and Dr. Dianne Flood, whose collective care and attention to Ron during his final years far exceeded any professional requirements. Ron's colourful personality was legendary; the world is just a little bit greyer with Ron's passing. We all look forward to the day when the grief of his death turns to smiles at his memory.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (1010 Botanical Dr, Burlington (905-527-0405) on Monday, May 23, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. Entombment at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington, followed by a reception at the funeral home. (Arrangements entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON 905-632-3333).

My sincerest condolences go out to the Patterson family. My brother, Tom Masson, was a friend of Ron's and I know they did some amazing motorcycle rides together. Unfortunately we lost Tom in 2013 but I know he would want me to express his sympathy to the family.

Mr. Ron was a friend of my late husband. I was honoured to meet Ron at a Theatre Aquarious event.

WOW! I did not get my REALLY COOL Christmas Card this year and tried to reach out to Ron and it came to my attention that he passed back in May. I wanted you to know how much, although we only did business over a 4 month period, of an impact he made with me. We stayed good friends for better than 6 years. Bigger than life and I had the chance to meet him when he was down here in Florida. He was a HUGE fan of our magazine, duPont REGISTRY. So sorry for your loss!!!
