Obituary

January 07th 1958
June 29th 2016

There are so many memories and people in my life that I am grateful for. Too many to mention here. Of course, first and foremost my beloved husband Dave and my three beautiful children: Ashley, Cassandra and Liam. Their love and support had no boundaries. They have blessed me with so many wonderful memories I will always cherish. I have learned so much from them over the years and they will always be close to my heart.

My mother Mary Kiczula, brother Kevin, sisters Angela (Lyle Teal), Sheila, Michelle and Pauline. My niece Tara (Romeo Crugnale) and nephew Devon. They were there for me from beginning to end and supporting me at every turn of the way. My aunt Alice and uncle Henry Daciuk along with their children and families and my in-laws, Quinto and Eva Trevisani. Again their unwavering support and love throughout the years will never be forgotten. Dave's siblings, Dino Trevisani (thank you for all your encouraging words and love), Cathy (Jeff Massey), Doris (Greg Ausman). My Zia Anna and Zio Bruno Zanon and niece Jessica (Mike Mariano). To all my many nephews, nieces and cousins, all of you are in my heart forever. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

My work family: I cannot thank the staff in Diagnostic Imaging at Juravinski Hospital enough for their care and compassion. They were always there to meet my needs both emotionally and physically. You are a credit to the hospital and your outstanding care is a model for all health care providers.

My friends: I have developed such beautiful relationships along the way with some of the kindest, most supportive individuals I could ever have asked for. You all know who you are, there are just too many to mention here.

My oncology team: Dr. Tozer, Jodi and Debbie at the JCC. I can't thank you enough for all you have done for me. You are totally committed to your profession and JCC is fortunate to have such a great team. We gave the leiomyosarcoma a good fight didn't we!

My palliative care team: beginning with the staff at the Bob Kemp Hospice, Terri Crockford for her persistence and especially the exceptional nurses and support staff who cared for me and my family. To the CCAC palliative care team - thank you for your guidance and support. Hamilton is very fortunate to have such a great team of professionals.

My spiritual family: St Margaret Mary Parish for all your prayers, Father Bergsma and Seminarian Paul Jamroz for all your spiritual talks and prayers.

I feel as though I have written an acceptance speech for winning a "Grammy"; however, a trophy could never replace the love and support I have received over the past few years.

Remember, I have left this body but my soul continues on and is doing very well. Look for me in the little things in life and I will be there. I have moved onto another life surrounded by God, his Angels and loved ones who have passed on before me. I will be smiling down at you from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

God Bless xo

Dave, Ashley, Cassandra and Liam: please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your wife and mother. Her beautiful written obituary is a lasting tribute to you.
I worked with Dave at the City of Hamilton and my husband I lived just around the corner from you on Rymal Rd. Pat was always very kind and generous with a good sense of humour. Pat is also remembered for her professionalism and kindness to my daughter when she was ill.

There are so many wonderful words to describe Pat, strong, beautiful, kind, compassionate, passionate, funny, to name just a few. I consider myself very blessed and am honored to have been fortunate enough to cross paths with her 20 years ago, through those years we have worked together and as well as built a life long friendship. Pat lived her life in a way that we all should strive to do and that is, always focusing on the positive, acknowledging the negative, but never dwelling on it. Seeing the beauty all around her even in the smallest of things and sharing her love to all around her. Although I will miss her dearly, I take comfort in having memories that I can carry with me until I see her again.

Dave, Ashley, Cassandra, Liam, The loves of her life, never doubt that she will be surrounding you always in a circle of strength and love that can never be broken. Loving thoughts and prayer are with you from the many people fortunate enough to have encountered Pat in this life, and thank you for always opening your home and hearts to share her.

Peace and love,

Chris Mastroianni
