GOW - ROBERT JAMES "ROB"

With broken hearts, the family announces Rob’s passing on February 22, 2018. Loving husband and best friend of Debra, beloved father of Andrea Proulx (Nathan) and Michael Gow (Michelle). Adored Grandad of Taylor, Aiden and Mikayla. As a family, we will forever have unwavering love and gratitude for the positive impact he had on us.

Rob was predeceased by his mother Helen and is survived by his father James Gow, sister Catherine Coady (Grayson), and brother Kevin Gow (Lena). He will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Shirley McCrudden and sister-in-law Leslie Galway (Rick).

Rob was very fortunate to have many friends and colleagues in the insurance industry throughout Ontario and Alberta for which his passing is a great loss. He was a genuine inspiration to those who have worked along side him over the last forty years. The many letters of gratitude received from colleagues and friends throughout his career are items he always cherished. Rob truly was a special man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He will remain forever in the hearts of all of us.

Memorial Visitation with the family will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton (905)574-0405 on Thursday, March 1st from 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Debbie

I know that words are inadequate at a time like this but I wanted you to know how we are very sorry for your loss. The loss of a spouse is a tragic event and we know the pain and suffering you are experiencing.

It is times like this that our faith is put to the test. We know that we must accept his passing and give thanks for the wonderful life he lived. As sad as it will be, we will always have the memory of him to hold in our hearts.

The Bible reminds us that "Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted." I pray that this will be especially true for you as you mourn your loss.

I pray that God will give you the strength to see you through this sad and difficult time. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

In Faith & Sympathy,
Love Kevin and Lena

My heart goes out to you, Rob's family. Rob was an incredibly polished, professional and inspiring leader and mentor to many of us at Economical. I have so many memories of times spent with Rob in strategy building discussions, sales planning, discussing operational opportunities (challenges always became opportunities!) and appreciating Rob's insight with many personally inspiring moments I will hold dear. I will forever thank Rob for the smiles and positive influence he had on Economical's broker distribution success and the lives of all the staff and his colleagues. He is deeply missed... and forever will be treasured. Dianna.

I had the distinct pleasure if hiring Rob to work for me at Vital Innovations and Insurocity. Rob's commitment and dedication to our mission was distinctly clear even before I hired him. He knew all too well that we were an early stage company, yet that did not deter his desire to become a part of what we were doing. His energy, passion, mindset for accomplishment and sense of urgency were infectious to those around him. Rob had a unique way of drawing people in and a solemn sincerity that was not simply inspirational, but left one in admiration of the man he was. Rob took great pride in converting disbelievers into believers, adversaries into allies, challenges into accomplishments thus personifying who and what he was. I will miss you my friend.
