In Celebration of
Santa "Santina" Marzilli
(nee Giglietta)
SEPTEMBER 24, 1937 - JUNE 1, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Santina on June 1, 2017 at the age of 79. Loving wife of the late Raffaele of 55 years. Beloved mother of Mike (Rena), Filomena “Mena”, Joe (Kelly), and Maria (Tim) Morin. Adored Nonna to Maximus, Raffaele, Dawn Santina, Lucas, Joseph and Cesare.
Dear Sister of Melina (the late Gino) who was loving and supportive throughout the years. Your compassion, especially through mom's brief illness, will never be forgotten. Also survived by Franca (the late Pietro), Tita (Antonio) and Maria (the late Giuseppe). Sister-in-law to the late Biassina (Luigi). Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Maddalena Giglietta and Michele Arcangelo and Filomena Marzilli. She will also be missed by other family and friends in Canada, Italy and USA. Santina was born in Fiumara, Reggio di Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958. Santa is a true reflection of her namesake "Saint". Her selflessness and devotion to her family was unparalleled. Her kindness and generosity touched everyone in her life especially her grandchildren, who cherished and loved their Nonna. Santina was a great Italian cook and happiest when surrounded by family and friends at the dinner table. She also enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens where she would spend many beautiful days. A special thank you to our cousins Rob, Joe, Cathy and Frank for their support, also to Dr. Corsini, Dr. Castelluzzo, Maria R., Edna, and to the ICU team at the Hamilton General Hospital.
