In Celebration of

Susan Arsenault

October 27, 1956 -  April 4, 2017

Arsenault, Susan Lynn
Passed away on April 4th 2017 at St. Peters Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60. Devoted mother and best friend to her daughter Erin, loving daughter of Eileen, treasured “Tee” to her nephew Landon, and a special sister to Michelle and Darlene (Rob). She will be missed by Bert Haynes (Rose) and by many beloved family and friends. Susan was predeceased by her father Cyril Arsenault (2005) and her beloved grand dog Reilly (2017).
Sue was born in Brantford and grew up in the west end of Hamilton. She had several careers; in her 20s she was a practical nurse and always had fond memories of working with special needs adults and palliative care patients. She was a fixture in the Locke Street area where she managed a post office and craft store. She later graduated from Mohawk College with a diploma as an Emergency dispatch operator, this lead her to work for the MTO in the Niagara region and later as a security dispatcher with HARP security in Oakville.
Sue was an avid animal lover, a Halloween fanatic, an excellent poker player and a 30 year member of Canadian calorie counters.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Juravinski Cancer Centre, Juravinski Hospital ward C3 and St. Peter’s Hospital Ward 3 west for all the care and compassion shown to Sue and her family during this difficult time.
Sue made friends wherever she went. All are welcome to join her family in celebrating her life at BAY GARDENS FFUNERAL HOME “Williiam J. Markey Chapel” 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday April 13, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.. Cremation has already taken place.

I played poker with Sue several times with the Aces & Eights Poker league - we chatted at the Purple Heather while eating dinner before poker started on several occasions. She also gave me poker tips. A kind and wonderful lady who will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. XO

I have known both Sue and Erin since the day I was born. Sue has always been there. It is so odd she will not be now. We lost a bright light, but heaven gained a true Angel with mad poker skills. RIP Sue until we meet again. Xoxo
