Obituary
Ted Wilson
September 18, 1953 - March 8, 2016
It is with a very sad heart we announce the passing of Ted at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, best friend and soulmate Patti (Gillem), and sons Shaun and Phillip. Cherished son of Gerry and Eleanor. Brother-in-law to Paul, Lorna, Maureen and Michael. Uncle of Andrea and Geoff. Nephew of Susan Wilson and Jo-anne Bevan. Greatly missed by many family, friends as well as colleagues in the electrical supply industry in Hamilton/ Burlington area. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank Dr. Torres, Dr. Connolly and Michelle, our oncology team and Dr. Hersi for their amazing support and ongoing guidance, Dr. Sun and the staff in the palliative unit at Joseph Brant Hospital, and the staff at Carpenter Hospice, for their care and compassion through this journey. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington or the Cancer Assistance Program.

A bright light in our world has been forever dimmed with Ted's premature passing.
Ted taught us so very much. From Ted we learned compassion, caring and the lend of his hand whenever needed. We learned that being dedicated to our job and doing everything possible, and then a little bit more was how to feel that you had done a good day's work. From Ted, we learned to find humour in daily life and we learned to laugh easily. We learned how to be the perfect, attentive host ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and comfortable be it at formal dinners or casual summer BBQs. From Ted we learned the true meaning of family: he would speak with great love and caring of his parents and his voice would be filled with pride when speaking of his sons Shawn and Phillip, but what everyone could learn from Ted is the love that he shared with Patti. Most of us only dream of having the loving, respectful marriage that Ted and Patti shared.
Although Ted's passing has indeed dimmed our world forever, the most important thing that we learned from Ted is the meaning of friendship. Our world is a better place for Ted having lived in it and we are better people for having Ted Wilson as a friend. Words cannot express how much we will miss our dear friend.
