Thomas Jacques

To Tom and Caroline and families our sincerest condolences to you all. Judi and I were saddened to hear of Tom's passing and are sorry that we can't be there on Sunday as we are in Florida. I have known him since my days growing up on Amelia St. in Hamilton with many fond childhood memories and when he was friends with John Myers,
Tom Hazell and Dave Sheridan who have all predeceased him. In recent years, I used to drop by when cycling on North Shore and we would attempt to "solve the world's problems" (not very well) and I will miss his friendly nature and happy perspective on life. R.I.P. Tom until we meet again. Bill and Judi Moffat

Tom Sr. has been in my life for 58 Years!!!!
When we really had snow storms, and the most exciting thing a 8 year old could do, was to grab his new "racing toboggan" he got from Christmas and head off to the nearest hill, and that's was what I did. As I grew up on the corner house on Unsworth Ave, fortunately, that hill was right next to 386 North Shore Blvd. BUT this hill was fantastic because you could start at the top, within a few feet of Tom's house, point your toboggan to the Burlington Bay and "LET IT RIP DOWN HILL" . In those days, 1958, there wasn't the construction of homes and you had a relatively clear path, minus a few small and large jumps, small trees, the bottom road of Danforth to cross, another small hill, past the ice wall at the water's edge, to end your race 100 ft out onto the Bay. BOY was that a good run!!! Mind you, Tom Sr. was not too excited at that time as we often had 10 - 15 kids, with their snow machines, tromping all over this front and side lawn. Tom Sr. would make his presence know and shoo us away, BUT we all just waited until he went to work and we were back!!!
