Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday February 14 at Hamilton General Hospital. Valerio “Larry” will be missed by his devoted and loving wife Gisele for 32 wonderful years. Cherished father of Vivian (Adam), and Stephanie (Hayden). Loving Nonno to Eleanor and Beatrice. His mother-in-law Irene will miss him greatly along with many of his brothers and sister’s in-law and other family in Costa Rica and Canada. His sister Luciana and brother in-law Dino have greeted him in Heaven along with his mother Anna and father Francesco. Beloved Uncle to Gabriella (Angelo), and Frank. Great-Uncle to Lisa, Mark, Westley, Justin, Ryan and their families. Fur Papa to Gigi and Fur Nonno to Roo and Milo.

Valerio loved cars, soccer, a good glass of wine with cheese, CNN and travelling. In particular, a special family trip to Costa Rica last year brought him so much joy and beautiful memories.

A special and heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Hamilton General Hospital for all their care and support during his final days.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, on Wednesday February 21 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Parish, 50 Brucedale Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday February 22 at 10:30 AM. Inurnment to follow the service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 254 Garner Road West, Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hamilton General Hospital Foundation and would be appreciated by Valerio’s family.
