Vincenzo Lofaro

Obituary
Lofaro, Vincenzo

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vincenzo “Chisel/Chizz” Lofaro on May 13, 2016 at the age of 45. Beloved son to Giuseppe and Caterina Lofaro. Cherished brother to Carmine Joseph Lofaro. Vince will be forever remembered and loved by his sister-in-law, niece, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends both near and abroad. Vince always found joy in making everyone that he met smile and laugh. His happiness and love will never be extinguished and will live forever in our hearts.

For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated.

If tears could build a stairwell
and memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say good-bye...
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
and secret tears still flow,
What it means to lose you
no one will ever know.

Sending love to heaven
Forever in my heart xo

I’m honoured to be the first to sign this guestbook. As tears pour down my face, I want to share the story of how Vince was nicknamed “Chisel”. The name was created at a very young age. I would say he was about 6 or 7 years old. Our father called him “Cenzo” (short for Vincenzo), so I started calling him “Chezzo”. So the name evolved from “Chezzo” to “Chisel” and it stuck for the rest of his life. There are many friends that didn’t know his actual name and just called him “Chisel” or “Chizz”. To this day, there are many people out there that still refer to me as “Chisel’s brother” (LOL). My brother represented “genuine goodness”, always wanted people that he met to smile and laugh. He had a heart of gold and will always be remembered as a beautiful spirit. I’m not sure why God called him today, but our loss is Heaven’s gain. Everyone is heartbroken that he was suddenly snatched away. He will always live in our hearts. Until we meet again Chizz....Carm
