Yoshiye Yokoyama

Yokoyama, Yoshiye (July 30, 1931- September 24, 2017)

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on September 24, 2017. Beloved mother of Dennis and his wife Dianne, and Gary and his wife Jill. Cherished grandma of Kenneth, Douglas and Sharon. Survived by her siblings Martha, Yuki and Shigeru. Predeceased by her parents Daimatsu and Hide Yoshinaka and her sister Kay. Born in Vancouver, Yoshiye and her family were relocated to Lemon Creek, B.C., during WWII. Post-war, Yoshiye followed her parents back to Japan where she lived and worked until moving to Hamilton in 1952. She married Jack Yokoyama in 1956 and together, they started their family. Yoshiye was a world traveler and an avid golfer, who enjoyed following her beloved Ti Cats. A memorial service will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation has taken place.
