In Celebration of
Albert Muhlbauer
Albert Muhlbauer
Albert Muhlbauer passed away on December 1st at the age of 87. He was a devoted husband and dedicated father. After marrying Lydia Liepold in Hepberg, Germany in 1954, the newlyweds emigrated to Canada, settling in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1963, they purchased a house in Burlington where they have remained since. Albert was an accomplished athlete in his youth and avid fan of all sports through his final days, with a special passion for soccer. An accomplished handyman, there was little that he was not able to do for himself, or for others, as he was always quick to offer a helping hand. He enjoyed working in the garden, and in the winter, taking part in an outdoor form of German curling with his buddies. Albert was also an active member of the Austrian Club in Burlington for the past 36 years, where he and Lydia enjoyed spending time with their circle of friends. Albert leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Lydia Muhlbauer, son Rainer Muhlbauer, daughter-in-law Trudy Muhlbauer and granddaughter Abbie Goetting, as well as numerous family members in Germany. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and neighbors.
At Albert’s request, Cremation has taken place. The family invites friends and family for a casual gathering to celebrate and share memories of Albert at The Continental Austrian Club, 664 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington (905) 527-1256, on Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 4-7 p.m.
