It is with heavy hearts that we announce Antonia (Toni) Scime, 90, who passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by family. Toni was born on June 28, 1935, in Detroit Michigan, graduated from St. Alphonsus high school in Dearborn Michigan, then attended and graduated with highest honours from Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she met, and married Dr. Ignatius Scime on May 10, 1958, and then moved to Hamilton, Ontario. Toni was a loving mother/devoted wife and built a life centered on family, resilience, and quiet strength. She was a committed volunteer for several years with the Big Sisters Association, Medical Wives Committee, the Catholic Woman’s League, and taught nursing classes at Red Cross. Toni was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ignatius (Harry) Scime who passed away in 2024. She is survived by her loving, devoted son, Anthony Scime, dedicated daughter Dr. Lori Scime (David A. Christian IV), dearest granddaughter Rebecca Felts (Luke), and very young great granddaughters, Valerie and Sloane Felts.Toni loved spending time with her sisters at the family cottage in Monroe, Michigan, watching soap opera's/60 minutes, visiting her granddaughter in Florida during the winter months, socializing with close friends, and was a dedicated supporter of Theatre Aquarius. Most cherished of all, was her secret Italian sauce and meatballs, eagerly anticipated at every family gathering. Visitation will take place at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, located at 947 Rymal Road East, in Hamilton, (905-574-0405), on Thursday February 19th, 2026, from 9:00 a.m., to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday February 19th, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Parish, located at 20 Idlewood Avenue, in Hamilton. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located at 254 Garner Road West, in Ancaster. The family wishes to express thanks for all the love and support during this difficult time.
