A Great Lady

Kathleen Bixby-Wishart (Granddaughter)

Entered April 10, 2022 from Hamilton, Ontario

I will never forget the first Christmas I spent with the family, Grandma came right over and sat beside me and introduced herself and welcomed me into the family- she was so friendly and kind. I don't remember the words she said exactly- but I remember how loved I felt from that very second as if I had always been one of her Granddaughters. She loved her family so much. I have beautiful memories of dinners at Grandmas house- every time without a doubt she always had extra food waiting for Keegan, cause the boys gotta eat! Grandma will be so missed, but we will always remember the beautiful memories. Rest In Peace to a wonderful person with the sweetest heart <3.

Ina Hamilton (A loving friend for 64 years.)

I met Cathy in 1958 and we became friends instantly. Over the years we shared so much. We both had children roughly the same ages and we were together a lot. Over 64 years we enjoyed good times together and helped each other through bad times. When I returned to work Cathy looked after my children for some time until I could make a more permanent arrangement. Cathy and I went to shows and movies usually by ourselves and to dances and house parties with our husbands and always enjoyed each other's company. Many nights we talked on the phone for hours. It was a wonderful friendship. I shall never forget her and will miss her as long as I live.

I have so many special memories of my mom. She was my best friend, my confidante, my biggest cheerleader, my inspiration, my rock. She was my first Love. From her love, I blossomed. From her strength, I learned to persevere through the tough times. From her warmth, I felt safe in her arms. From her wisdom, I learned to love myself.
Everything I am is because she loved me.

What words do I use to tell the story of someone who has meant so much to me in so many ways. I have been fortunate, blessed and so so honoured that this wonderful lady bestowed upon me the title of Son. I will miss so much this very special person who I call Mother, sadness at times now overwhelmes me what more is there to say.
