It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest Chris, who left us in his 60th year, on the morning of Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario, due to pancreatic cancer complications.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Malavolta) and his most cherished daughter, Lindsay. He is now in the arms of his Lord Jesus and Savior, no doubt fishing with his father, Leino, who also left us too early. His generous heart and companionship will be deeply missed by his mother Dianne (Ken) and his siblings, Steven (Abigail), Peter (Kathryn) and Laina (Mike). His many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews already miss him deeply, as do his many friends who were a source of great joy in Chris’ life.
Chris was a joyful, funny, caring, and generous soul who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was so loved by all the children in our immediate and extended families because of his creative, artistic, fun-loving nature and will always be remembered as the gentle giant. His laughter and warmth made every gathering memorable and his presence was a gift to all of us who were blessed to know him. Chris cherished his time camping and making roaring campfires, being out on a canoe or his grandfather’s boat chasing the ‘one’ that got away and riding his motorcycle.
Like his father, Chris was highly skilled with his hands and always willing to help solve any building or mechanical challenge. Chris had followed in his father’s footsteps working at Bell Canada for many years, then going on to become a Master Electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for the past 20 years. His commitment to excellence in his work was surpassed only by the love and dedication he gave to his family, which remained his highest priority.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Dr, Burlington on Saturday, July 5th, to celebrate Chris’ life and the legacy he leaves behind. Visitation 12-4pm with Service at 1pm and reception to follow thereafter.
On a later date, a private interment will take place at Uxbridge Cemetery where Chris will be laid to rest with his father.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to your local food bank are encouraged.
