Obituary
Lane, David Edmond
October 15, 1950 - May 18, 2016
With heavy hearts we sadly announce the sudden passing of David at the Hamilton General Hospital. Predeceased by his mother Ruth Lane and his father Robert Lane. David is survived by and will be forever loved and missed by his wife Caren (nee Gardiner) and his children Rebecca (Jay), Nathan (Jenny) and Roberta (Curtis). Dave was a devoted, proud and committed father. Dear brother of Paul (Carola) and Robin Lane. He will also be missed by his partner Shari-Lee Srigley as well as many relatives, extended family, friends and co-workers.

Executive Director of the John Howard Society, Hamilton, Burlington and Area. He was the past and present member of various boards and clubs. He was recently honoured with being knighted to the Order of St. George for his lifetime of community service. Dave will always be remembered for his strong dedication to his 'communities.' One of Dave's greatest passions was the family cottage 'Summers Lane' in Turkey Point where he enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and good times. Football has always played a major role in Dave's life; as a player, coach, fan and administrator. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Howard Society- 'Dock of the Bay Scholarship Fund', CFL Alumni Support Fund or Camp Maple Leaf. Please sign the online Book of Condolences at www.baygardens.ca

My condolences to you Caren, and your family. I enjoyed working for David as his secretary at C.A.S. Hamilton, many years ago. He was always very courteous and a good friend.

Mary Ann and I send our deepest condolences to family and friends. We will always remember talking to Dave at Gryphon games and get togethers and sharing a laugh with he and Coach Brown. Dave was forever getting Mark and coach in trouble with Mrs. Coach as she would always say "Why can't you be more like that polite gentleman David." Coach called him Eddie Haskell. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Daves passing. I worked with Dave when I worked at GR Force. He was always fair and a fabulous person to work with. He was sadly missed when he left to work else where. My condolences to family and friends.
