Dhanmat Khedoo

Dhanmat Khedoo commonly known as Baigess Galo, passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2023 at Victoria Gardens Long Term Care Home surrounded by her family in her 87th year. Loving mother of (and their spouses) Sabo (Willy), Radika (Al), Partab (Radha), Devika (Ralph), Dano (Radha), Baby, and the late Shelia, Sado, and Adeo. Sweet grandmother to Wesley, Clifford, Gail, Brandon, Satish, Ravo, Lalo, Satisha, Alex, Alisa and serval others who she cherished as if they were her own. Great-grandmother to Olivia, Colin, Carter, Myah, Kai, Priya, Shivanne, Lylah, Ryu, Aliyah, Amelia, Cameron, Savannah, and Aurora. Dear sister of Kali, and the late Bano, Cyril, Harold.

Dhanmat a resilient and hardworking woman, began her journey in Guyana and later embraced a new chapter in Canada. Her work ethic was unmatched, providing tirelessly for her family. Beyond her dedication to providing, she found joy in embracing life to the fullest. In her leisure, she cherished her hobbies such as shopping and watching TV, and found excitement at the casino. Dhanmat lived a life marked by resilience, joy, and a deep commitment to her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and the pursuit of happiness.

In honor of Dhanmat, let us commemorate her life defined by love. Dhanmat will be missed but never forgotten. As we reflect on the cherished memories and moments shared with her, may we take comfort in the lasting influence of the love and joy that defined her extraordinary journey.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Victoria Gardens Long Term Care Home for their support and care during the 11 years that our beloved Dhanmat resided under their care. The warmth displayed by the entire team has provided comfort to both Dhanmat and our family throughout her stay. We are grateful for their support during this challenging journey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton. A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22nd from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Bay Gardens. A Service will take place on Saturday, December 23rd beginning at 9:00 am, in the Bay Gardens Chapel. Burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
