VERTICCHIO, Dominic

Peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, Dominic Verticchio at the age of 67 years. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Wills) for 44 years. Loving father of Michael (Krista) and Marc (Dawn). Cherished Nonno and Papa to Ryan, Avery, Emma, Chase and Noah. Dear brother of Laura Verticchio and son of the late Luigi and Filomena Verticchio. Dominic is the Executive Director of the Hamilton Children's Aid Society and is an active board member of Ontario Trillium Foundation, OACAS, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hamilton, Youth Employment Centre, Citizen's Action Group and Stoney Creek Wrap Around. Special thank you to John Corsini, Brother Richard, Angi McNeil, Suzanne his VON nurse, Firestone Clinic, Mary Meyer, Laureen Greer and Joanne Pescetti for all their care and compassion. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, July 5th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A celebration of life for Dominic will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 6th at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Hamilton Children's Aid Society or to the Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated. In all the time I reported to Dominic as the HR Director, he was supportive of my role. We didn't always agree on a particular decision, but we were always able to work out our differences with open communication.
Dominic truly cared about the children. He was a compassionate man and candidly admitted he wore his heart on his sleeve.

My sincere condolences to Sharon, Michael and Marc.

My heart is broken to think that dominic is no longer with us but he is out of pain and in God’s arms. Words cannot express our profound sadness at Dominic's sudden passing. He will always be remembered as a strong and caring man. A true role model for the Hamilton Community. We will miss him dearly.
