In Celebration of

Donald Rielly

January 24, 1963 -  May 4, 2023

Rielly, Donald James (Donny), passed away suddenly, yet peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at The Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 60 years old. Lovingly remembered by his sweetheart in life, Nancy, 35 years of marriage.

Donny will be held forever in the hearts of his siblings, predeceased brother Brian (Danielle), brother Bill (Judy), brother Tom (Debbie), sister Barbara (Randy) Montour, sister Janice, (the late Jim) Ramsden, and sister-in-law, Kathy (child, Sol), and all his nieces and nephews, and cherished friends.

Don started his career as an electrician for Comstock Canada as a member of I.B.E.W. Local 105 before changing career paths to join the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) in the Plan Review Department. He enjoyed travelling with the love of his life, was an avid golfer and had a passion for music.
He was always one to be quick witted and would razz anyone in his presence whether he knew them or not.
Many, many, thanks to Dr. Shariff, Dr. Quinn and the wonderful nursing staff of the Juravinski ICU Unit.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton.
A service will take place on Thursday, May 11th at 11am at Bay Gardens Funeral Home.
Burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton.
Reception to be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Bay Gardens Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

It is with deep sadness that I offer my condolences to Nancy and my Rielly family.

Donnie and I grew up together in Hamilton. He was 11 months older than myself, we were always involved is some hijinks and interaction.

I was honoured to be the best man at Nancy and Donnies wedding ceremony 35 years ago this May.

Living in West Vancouver over the last 30 years unfortunately created a physical distance, but a quick phone call would be one of humour and togetherness.

Too early a bright light has been dimmed in my heart, I relied on him alwys being there for strngth. However it is with great joy that a new star shines in heaven.

I will remember Don with much love. His sense of humor. His dedication to Nancy. His ability to speak his mind.
He was my brother from another mother.
