It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved angel, Lisa, on Monday July 1st, in her 61st year, surrounded by her family. She succumbed to her pain and suffering after a courageous battle with cancer for the fourth time to which she now rests in peace in heaven. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years, Luigi; her three children, Daniel (Antonella) and granddaughter Bianca, Christian (Kristen), and Sarah. She is lovely remembered by her mother Gaetana “Tanina,” her brothers Tony (Connie) Materno and Fern (Laura) Materno, and her sister-in-law Emily and (the late Joe) Bucci. She is also remembered by all the nieces and nephews; Anthony (Jessica), Amanda (Anthony), Domenic, Adam (Stephanie), Matthew (Patricia), Stephanie (Chris), Andrew (Julia), Arianna, Damian, Dante, Stella, Gabriella and Samuel. She is predeceased by her father Domenic Materno, brother Michellino, Zia Bettina (Tony), and in-laws Leonardo and Fausta Carbone and brother-in-law, Joe Bucci, and many relatives in Canada, Italy and abroad. She will also be dearly missed by her friends and colleagues at Tracies Place. Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital and her at-home care nurses. Special thanks to Dr. Kapoor, Dr. Thirumoorthi, Dr. Mukherjee, Dr. Dionne, and nurses Theresa, Joanna, and Sandra.
