In Celebration of

Frank Caprice

May 2, 1962 -  May 7, 2025

Frank was promoted into Glory by His Lord and Saviour peacefully on May 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Frank has been the beloved husband of Simone for 24 years and cherished father to his children Brady, Jordan (Lindsay), Kohana & Kai. Frank was born on May 2nd, 1962, in Hamilton, ON., to Frank Sr and Rigoletta Caprice (nee Bettiol), to bring the family to five with his sisters Frances Caprice and Christine Caprice (David).

Frank grew up in Hamilton and will be remembered by many as a hometown hockey hero after being drafted from the OHL London Knights to the NHL Vancouver Canucks in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. At the conclusion of the 1989-1990 NHL season, Frank had 102 NHL games under his belt before heading off to Europe, where he played in Italy, Wales and Scotland as well as a short stint in Corpus Christi, TX. Finally retiring after the 1998-99 season fulfilling an almost 20yr hockey career. Frank returned to Hamilton upon his retirement to be near his two sons and he permanently relocated to the Hamilton area with his wife Simone who he had met in Cardiff.

Frank started working for OLG in 2000, during the building of the Flamboro Downs Casino, and was still with the organization 24yrs later. He worked his way up through OLG over many years, sites and roles and made many close friendships along the way. He finally ended his career at the head office in Toronto. During these years Frank lived in various parts of southern Ontario, had two more children and found his community through his faith.

Frank loved to travel, to fish and was an avid foodie but his greatest joy was his relationship with his Lord during the last 18 months of his life that was obvious to all who knew him. After a cancer journey of 4 years Frank was ready to go home to his Lord for eternity. Frank is preceded by his father, and survived by his wife, children, mother and sisters. Visitation’s will be held on Thursday May 15th, at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East, in Hamilton, from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 16th, 2025, at Kingsway Christian Church, located at 3776 ON-3, in Balmoral, Ontario, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, located at 600 Spring Gardens Rd, in Burlington at 2:30 pm.

Frank is already deeply missed by all those who loved him and held him dear in the hearts of his family, and many friends.

Donations in memory of Frank, may be made to Stedman Community Hospice and Norfolk Haldimand Hospice. The family wishes to extend great thanks for all the love and support during this difficult time.

I considered Frank as a great friend and although we rarely saw each other our friendship remained strong over the years. I will forever cherish our time spent together at the cottage fishing and hunting. You will forever remain in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Love you Frank. Dave❤️

My old high school Buddy, Frankie Caprice. Been awhile since I’ve seen you, but memories live on forever. Met Frankie at St. Lawrence school in grade 3, we played cherub baseball at Eastwood, then pee wee, bantam . Then together at Sir, John A McDonald High School. My fondest memories in High School were of Frankie and I going to the apartment he lived at on Queen Street, at lunch hour and our spare time, listening to Kiss and Fleetwood records. Or watching the Three Stooges on TV. Great times and lots of laughs.

My condolences to Frankie’s Family and Friends. Rest in peace my old friend.
