Just yesterday we were remembering Joan and Eric as our neighbors here at Aspen Heights Townhomes in Grand Junction. Such an interesting and sweet couple. Always enjoyed our visits with them!! We hated to see them move back to Canada but knew they needed to be near family.
We lived on Golfmore Drive in Grand Junction when Joan and Eric lived there. It was always fun to hear Joan's delightful accent when we visited about goings on in the neighborhood. So sorry to hear of the loss to your family of such a vibrant matriarch
I knew both your parents well, in the 11 years I served as Senior Minister at First Congregational UCC here in Grand Junction. They were interesting, thoughtful, intelligent, engaging human beings. I loved that when your Dad got irritated by something I’d done in the service that he thought was “too theatrical,” he was on my office doorstep the next mornin to discuss it! Joan was the quintessential “lady”. — and at the same time, incredibly tough, resilient, and creative. I loved, respected, and admired them both. They have been greatly missed here since their return to Canada, and I know will continue to be missed. Fondly, The Rev. Sharyl B. Peterson
We were so sad to learn of Joan’s death, but what an incredible life she led. As fellow Brits, we enjoyed both Joan and Eric, sharing chats about the U.K. our mutual travels and memories of ‘the good old days,’ and our friendship with John and Betty Dunning.
You have our deepest sympathy and wishes for happy memories in the years to come.
