It is with profound sadness, that the family of Margaret Mastroianni announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the very young age of 66, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was surrounded by those with whom She loved dearly. She will be lovingly and forever remembered by her husband of 46 years, Franco. She was a dedicated and selfless mother of Daniella (Giulio) and Nadia. Exceptional Oma to her three beautiful granddaughters and the light of her life: Bianca, Aria and Simona. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Karl and Eva Heidt. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and close friends. Margaret lived in Hamilton and surrounding areas her whole life. She was a Trillium Award landscaper, an exceptional baker, a clean freak, and an amazing shopping partner. Marge took her first all inclusive vacation in 2013 and instantly fell in love with the sun and relaxation. Almost every year following, mom was ready to embark on a new country with the sun on her face and her toes in the sand. Before retirement, Marge was a foster parent for many years and cared for and raised babies right from the hospital while helping to raise her granddaughters. She was an incredible human being and always, without fail, put the needs of others before her own. She would move Heaven and Earth to make sure her daughters and granddaughters had everything they needed. The family of Marge, would like to extend their many thanks to the numerous wonderful human beings who were actively involved in her care and support during and after her hospital stay. These would include, Dr. Coschi of the JCC, Dr. Boushahri and nurse Zara of 4G at St. Joe's, nurse Erin of Bayshore, Melly of Juravinski Hospital and our dear friend, Miranda. A very special thank you to her son-in-law, Giulio, who fulfilled her wish on her last day here on Earth and arranged to have Oma sponsor her granddaughter Aria for her confirmation in her home, after having received the blessing of Bishop Crosby. God Bless Father Andrew Quarshie and Bishop Joseph of Ghana, for coming to our home for this Sacred Sacrament. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home " William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, September 28th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9p.m. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday September 29th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Cemetery, 681 Mud Street East, Stoney Creek.
